Dursey Cable Car, Beara Peninsula, Ireland
The Connemara landscape features are full of stone and unevenness with the mountain pins as a backdrop. The Connemara Pony is a bred which is hardy to withstand the wet and windy weather of this harsh environment. I took this image while out photographing with my father on the road to Roundstone.
When my father and I were ready to leave this dirty road, we got stuck with the four wheel drive in the side of ditch covered by gorse. The light was beginning to fade for the day so both us managed a plan not to leave us stranded. Using the stone as a platform we jacked up the car and placed a platform of flat rock under the wheel which was stuck. After an hour of building and laying we could slowly reversed out.
